The American and Chinese moon colonists often socialize. One of the first lunar love affairs is between Kurt and Zhen, an American biologist and a Chinese astronaut. In addition to having energetic discussions about the future of humanity, they discover the joys and challenges of low-gravity sex (I see this scene as being light-hearted, with both sensual and comical elements). Zhen is a big believer in the concept of digital life, and has heard rumors that such a thing is being developed secretly on Earth. Kurt is adamantly against the concept, and sees the development of life as something that should be left to God. Their relationship goes well, and they talk of marriage and children.
